Well, its been a month since our first post and things are progressing very well. Its been a very busy month as we've purchased both our truck and RV.
We ended up buying a Chevy 3500HD 4x4 DRW (dually) turbo diesel for our truck, the largest vehicle we've ever owned. This thing is 20' long and 8' wide. It only took a couple of days to become comfortable driving it around town. I think Barbara drives it better than I do.
On Tuesday we leave our apartment for Springdale, Arkansas to pick up our RV from Wheels RV. We made a trip to this dealer after we met one of the owners at the Kansas City RV Show in January. They had a couple of 5th wheels at the show we were very impressed with. I made a comment that they were so expensive I didn't think we could afford one. The owner said he could sell the model we toured for much less than the price listed. The number he quoted was well within our budget. I think we decided then and there to make the trip to Arkansas when ready to make a purchase. Anyway, we made the trip a couple of weeks ago and found the RV of our dreams. Its a new DRV Mobile Suites 36TKSB3. DRV has a neat website. Check'em out.
After doing a thorough inspection to make sure all systems work, we'll pull our new home back to a campground just west of the KC area and stay for a month. We'll use this time to get used to our new home. I'll plan on posting a few photos on our next post, giving you a tour of our new truck and home.
