Why is it that when you get ready to leave a place after staying for a while you discover a special place you wish you had found on the first day? I found such a place yesterday, quite by accident. Barbara and I made a trip into Brooksville to do some shopping and while on the way back, we kept our eye out for a place to eat lunch. Just when we were about to give up, we rounded a curve on the outskirts of Brooksville and came across Coney Island. Now if you like hot dogs, this is the place to be. In business since 1960, you could just tell it was a special place the locals were fond of.

I had a foot long with chili, onions, cheese, mustard, and mayo and washed it down with a sweet tea. Now I've had a lot of good hot dogs in my day but this was the best! It was so good I went back for another one today.

We end our stay in Florida tomorrow as we begin our way back up north. Our first stop will be Fort McAllister State Historic Park, Georgia. We'll just be a few miles south of Savannah so we plan to visit my sister while there. After a few days, we'll head to the mountains of east Tennessee for a week visiting with more family.
We really enjoyed our 6 weeks in Florida at Yankee Traveler RV Park and Sumter Oaks RV Park. They say RV'ers are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. Well, I believe it. The last photo is of some friends made at Sumter Oaks. Even though we all come from different places and have different backgrounds, our common love of travel and the RV lifestyle binds us together in friendship.
